Well I started with Mint 14 Nadia (KDE) fresh install. I used synaptic to install all components of Mate Cinnamon. No conflicts, although each desktop menu will contain items relating to both desktops which can be edited to suit. A full KDE and Cinnamon desktop is 5.6G on my / partition so just make sure you have enough space. Install package: plasma-vault. It will be accessible via systray. While in the installation menu (test mode I think it is called) wifi works great I am logged into the form. My problem is when I restart the machine and it logs into Mint I have no wifi, when I click the connection in the bottom right

Linux Mint uses Ubuntu repositories from behind and Ubuntu as far I know never do major shell updates inside one release. So, probably will be officially available in the next release.
